About

Find out about the Algae Innovation Challenge for schools as we chat with Rachael Scott from the UTS Deep Green Biotech Hub. It’s all about imagination, creativity and the potential applications of biotechnology for sustainability.

Hosted by Ben Newsome from Fizzics Education

About the UTS Deep Green Biotech Hub

5 circles on a black background. Each circle has a different picture: a scientist in a lab coat extracting algae from beakers, syringes with green liquid up close, a tray of green liquids with a micropipette extracting them, a scientist next to a green tank and finally green clear tubing with liquid inside them

The NSW Deep Green Biotech Hub (DGBH) works to connect NSW-based businesses with cutting-edge algae biotechnology research at the University of Technology Sydney, so they can together build a deep green future. They aim to educate the public about the incredible potential for algae biotechnology to solve sustainability challenges to inspire the social license to create a thriving green ‘bioeconomy’ in Australia. The work is made possible by Investment NSW Boosting Business Innovation Program.
