AI & Robotics (NSW only)

Making sense of AI & Robotics for primary students

Artificial Intelligence is the most important technology of a generation. Spark student interest in A.I. and robotics with an incursion program that is aligned with the Digital Technology Syllabus.

  • How do computers see and learn?
  • Apply A.I. classification to data to create, train and deploy Autonomous Robotic Cars using computer vision A.I.
  • Challenge critical thinking skills with DeepFake A.I. created images.
  • Learn how to code Lego Robots to sense their environment

Run in collaboration with Neuranext and specifically designed for primary students,  we combine A.I workshops with robotics coding to produce a well-rounded incursion program that helps students understand the modern era.

Australian ACARA Content Outcomes:
Digital Technologies

Explore and use a range of digital systems with peripheral devices for different purposes, and transmit different types of data (ACTDIK007).

Define simple problems, and describe and follow a sequence of steps and decisions (algorithms) needed to solve them (ACTDIP010).

Explain how developed solutions and existing information systems meet common personal, school or community needs, and envisage new ways of using them (ACTDIP012).

Investigate how digital systems use whole numbers as a basis for representing all types of data (ACTDIK015).

Design, modify and follow simple algorithms represented diagrammatically and in English involving sequences of steps, branching, and iteration (repetition) (ACTDIP019).

Australian Curriculum Outcomes (ACARA):
Science

Suggest ways to plan and conduct investigations to find answers to questions (ACSIS054).

Safely use appropriate materials, tools or equipment to make and record observations, using formal measurements and digital technologies as appropriate (ACSIS066).

Scientific understandings, discoveries and inventions are used to solve problems that directly affect people’s lives (ACSHE083).

Engaging for students!

Two workshop streams, one mission

Fizzics Education and Neuranext will run two concurrent workshops throughout the day, with the aim so that your students get exposed to both A.I as well as robotics.

Format during the day

  • 3 or 4 x 1 hour Artificial Intelligence Workshops by Neuranext in one classroom
  • 3 or 4 x 1 hour Lego Robotics Workshops by Fizzics Education in the other classroom

Students to rotate between the rooms.

More about Neuranext

Neuranext

The Neuranext A.I program was recently chosen by Microsoft to run at the Microsoft Store in Sydney where all sessions were sold out. Just over 1000 students have learnt about A.I. with Neuranext since March 2019. Begin your students A.I. journey today and set them up to be active participants in the A.I. world of tomorrow.
