The COVID-19 crisis has placed many organisations at risk.

Education staff have been overwhelmed as they are also parents with very understandable concerns, all in a high-pressure economic environment.

This accelerator is designed to ease this burden.

Fizzics Education has run education technology accelerators and teacher professional development for years. We have deep experience with distance education learning systems and how to mesh technology together in multiple environments.

Collaborative technologies are the heart of how to run a remote organisation. They can be used as teaching & training tools as well for in-house communication and project management. However, they do need careful planning and an understanding of the capabilities of both the technology and the users to be put to best use.

This accelerator is designed to cover multiple outcomes in an intensive one-day course. Our program is flexible and can be tailored to the needs of your organisation.

Online platforms training

Training in the use of the Zoom platform to deliver live online video content. This will address technical requirements, effective presentation of lesson material, user engagement and child protection measures.

A zoom call in progress

Steps to be taken before, during and after the online training are carefully discussed and tailored for your organisation. These include (but are not limited to):

  • Child protection issues and solutions in a digital world.
  • Engagement tools and their application to a variety of environments.
  • Hardware and software considerations (not just what does and doesn’t work, but how to get the most out of everything under a tight budget)
  • How to create interactivity for a variety of users
  • The use of collaborative tools for staff communication, project planning, document storage, task management, and more. Remote teamwork with stakeholders is very easy to do once you unite these platforms (and many apps available are free).

  • Child protection. The reality of what needs to be put in place to ensure a safe environment for all children. This is essential even if you think only adults are involved in your connections.
  • How to engage learners and the general public in using remote education. Techniques for engagement will be highlighted and solutions addressed for younger audiences and those with short attention spans.
  • Learn how to use various software technologies for collaboration between any user.
  • What to do if things go wrong. Examples of lessons learned and what is realistic in terms of on-the-spot fixes.

Afternoon session

  • How should you consider marketing your digital offerings? Having a great product does not mean someone will either find your content nor appreciate its use or relevance without strong marketing and calls to action throughout the customer journey.
  • How to present quality, well-designed materials developed for on-screen viewing. Time will be spent workshopping ideas amongst your teachers.
  • Expectation management. Good intentions do not mean good outcomes. The learning community is coming to grips with the new digital paradigm and needs time to embrace the technology. This also includes parents accessing your digital content. Elaborate presentations are not recommended until the basics are understood thoroughly first.
