About James Maynard
James Maynard grew up around the space program, and he has dedicated his professional life to making science education available to everyone. Maynard has written thousands of scientific articles, hosted star parties, and taught astronomy to students from 2nd grade to college.
He currently publishes The Cosmic Companion, a multimedia publication focused on humanizing astronomy education through friendly conversations with scientists, authors, and developers around the globe. Fun, entertaining episodes are delivered in podcast and video formats, as well as in the metaverse. It is this technology, Maynard believes, which will revolutionize science education, potentially changing our species forever.
With interviews with leading science educators and STEM thought leaders, this science education podcast is about highlighting different ways of teaching kids within and beyond the classroom. It’s not just about educational practice & pedagogy, it’s about inspiring new ideas & challenging conventions of how students can learn about their world!
