About the Andy Thomas Space Foundation
Founded by Dr Andrew Thomas AO, Australian astronaut and Research Scientist, The Andy Thomas Space Foundation exists to fulfil three purposes;
- Advancing Space Education – Making STEM literacy for all students an educational priority.
- Raising Space Awareness – Making connections between space science and technologies and our everyday lives.
- Contributing to the national space community – Through events and other education initiatives
About Darcey Watson
In addition to her role as Executive Officer with the Andy Thomas Space foundation, Darcey is proud to serve as Chair of the Spence Club Board of Directors and Team Coordinator of the Astra Program. She is also co-founder of CoLab Society and co-host of the CoLab Society podcast where they discuss the diverse range of career pathways within the field of science. Through this podcast, they showcase the experiences and challenges of current female game-changers (and male allies) in the hopes of making the science industry more accessible and relatable for emerging science leaders.
With interviews with leading science educators and STEM thought leaders, this science education podcast is about highlighting different ways of teaching kids within and beyond the classroom. It’s not just about educational practice & pedagogy, it’s about inspiring new ideas & challenging conventions of how students can learn about their world!
