About

The Spellman Clean Tech Competition

The Spellman Clean Tech Competition is a worldwide research and design challenge for 15-18 year old pre-college youth that encourages scientific understanding of real-world issues and the integration of environmentally responsible energy sources. Each year, the Clean Tech Competition addresses an issue grounded in core technological competency areas and focuses on the next great engineering challenges. For 2020, that challenge is Reducing Individual Impacts, whether they be in areas with Abundant Resources, or Limited Resources.

Contestants work in teams of 1-3, where they research a specific solution to this problem, and then submit papers to be judges by an international team of industry professionals and university instructors. The 2020 Finals event is set to be held on July 2nd in Washington, D.C. where Finalist teams will present their constructed prototypes and research as they vie for the $10,000 per category grand prizes.
