Hosted by Ben Newsome from Fizzics Education More Information About the FizzicsEd Podcast About Kate Kennedy White Kate is an accredited Philosophy teacher trainer in Australia (FAPSA) and the United Kingdom (SAPERE), the Associate Director, Centre for Critical Thinking and Ethics at Newington College, and a dedicated philosophy teacher K-6. Previously, she was an award-winning children’s television creator. Her specialised training includes a residency at the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children (IAPC) at Montclair University, New Jersey, and an intensive course in The Art of Questioning at the Institut of Philosophy Practice in France. She has presented papers in Vancouver, Seattle, Cape Town, London, Auckland and Wellington and is one of the lead authors in the 2018 Routledge publication Philosophy in Australia. In 2014 she was awarded the NSW Premier’s Early Childhood Scholarship to study introducing P4C in the early childhood years (3-6) and presents courses for Early Childhood professionals in P4C for this age group. In 2023 Kate was awarded the Outstanding Professional Service Award by the Institute for Educational Leadership in Australia in recognition of her voluntary work for the Philosophy in Schools Association NSW.
