About

Not all students have the opportunity to visit a real farm! Thankfully the NSW Department of Primary Industries has solved this problem by creating the Tocal Virtual Farm. We chat with Jo Hathway who is the school program project officer for the farm, where she guides through what is available for primary and secondary students.
About Tocal Virtual Farm
Tocal Virtual Farm provides a fantastic opportunity for primary and secondary schools to study science and technology, geography and history as well as outcomes from the English, maths, PDHPE and capacity syllabuses from the classroom.
Teaching guides, student workbooks, learning activities, immersive digital resources and on-site visits for Kindergarten to Year 12 classes have been designed to ensure that depth of learning occurs.
With interviews with leading science educators and STEM thought leaders, this science education podcast is about highlighting different ways of teaching kids within and beyond the classroom. It’s not just about educational practice & pedagogy, it’s about inspiring new ideas & challenging conventions of how students can learn about their world!
