Teaching ideas for a magnetic wand
- Create a magnetic maze using cardboard and a button magnet.
- How close can you get two magnetic wands together if the same poles are facing each other?
- How close can you hold two magnetic wands near each other before opposite poles make them attract?
- Place paper clips on a table and see if you can make them move by moving the wand under the table.
- Tie a paper clip onto some string and secure this to a table leg. Can the students make the paper clip float in the air?
- How close can you get the magnetic wand to some iron filings before they form a pattern?
- If you have the magnetic sculpture toy, how many pieces of iron can you pick up?

This was delivered safely and effectively, capturing both the children and the parents for the duration of the presentation.
-Macquarie Bank – Family Fun DayFizzics Education ran a show today at our school and it was wonderful. He was a great facilitator and the show was age appropriate and well done.
