Teaching ideas for a Pi Shirt
- Challenge your students to see who can remember the most digits for Pi
- Participate in International Pi Day on March 14
- Join Pi Approximation Day celebrations on July 22. Why is this different to Pi Day?

– Make an anemometer and work out the wind speed
– What is the area of grass covered by a rotating sprinkler?
– How much further is the outside lane in on an athletic track compared to inside lane?
– How much pizza do you get in a slice?
– Stand shoulder to shoulder and march in a circle. How much farther does the outside person have to travel?
When a circle’s diameter is 1, its circumference is Pi.
Pi is a mathematical constant which represents the ratio of any circle’s circumference to the diameter. Pi is one of the most important mathematical constants: many formulae from mathematics, science, and engineering involve pi.

-Greenvale Primary School – Big Science Big FunFizzics Education curated a thoughtful and hands-on experience for the children, incorporating practical, skill-based learning activities and followed by a science presentation at the end of the event involving liquid nitrogen. This was delivered safely and effectively, capturing both the children and the parents for the duration of the presentation.
-Macquarie Bank – Family Fun DayFizzics Education ran a show today at our school and it was wonderful. He was a great facilitator and the show was age appropriate and well done.
